In Sydney, the management of electricity distribution is handled by three main entities: Ausgrid, Essential Energy, and Endeavour Energy. Your electricity consumption will vary based on the service provider in your area. Different peak, shoulder, and off-peak timeframes will apply.
For Ausgrid Customers:
- Peak: Monday to Friday, from 2pm to 8pm (excluding public holidays).
- Shoulder: Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), from 7am to 2pm and from 8pm to 10pm. Weekends and public holidays, from 7am to 10pm.
- Off-Peak: All other times.
For Essential Energy Customers:
- Peak: Monday to Friday, from 7am to 9am and from 5pm to 8pm.
- Shoulder: Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm and from 8pm to 1pm.
- Time Of Use Off-Peak: All other times.
For Endeavour Energy Customers:
- Peak: Monday to Friday, from 1pm to 8pm (excluding public holidays).
- Shoulder: Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), from 7am to 1pm and from 8pm to 10pm. Weekends and public holidays, from 7am to 10pm.
- Time Of Use Off-Peak: From 10pm to 7am every day.

During peak periods, prices are higher, while during shoulder periods they are cheaper. The least expensive rates are during off-peak times.
